Terms of Use
The short, readable version of what this website is and isn't.
This website is information, not treatment
Everything here is general information about therapy and about this practice. It is not medical or mental-health advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional who knows your situation.
Reading this site, filling in the form, or emailing does not make you a client and does not create a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have both agreed to work together and you have signed the intake and consent documents.
Not for emergencies
This website, its form, its phone line and its email address are not monitored continuously and are not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, use the crisis resources listed on the contact page and in the footer of every page: call or text 988, call the Utah Crisis Line at 801-587-3000, or call 911.
Who can be seen
Therapy through this practice is available to adults, and to minors aged sixteen or older with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who are physically located in Utah at the time of each session, because that is where the practitioner is licensed. Being located elsewhere isn't a technicality. It determines which state's law applies and whether care can lawfully be provided at all.
The case illustrations are invented
The three “situations” described on this site are composed illustrations written to be clinically plausible. They are not clients, not composites of clients, and not disguised real cases. No client material appears anywhere on this website.
No guaranteed outcome
Descriptions of what therapy can achieve, including any research findings cited, describe general patterns and published results. They are not a promise about your outcome. No ethical therapist can guarantee a result, and this site doesn't.
Links and third parties
Where this site links to outside resources such as research guidelines, crisis lines and government pages, those sites are not under this practice's control and their content isn't endorsed beyond the specific reason for the link.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah.
